Anxiety Treatment in Galway
I offer anxiety treatment in Galway and online. No matter how long you have been suffering from the disturbing symptoms of anxiety, please know that help is at hand.
I work with cutting edge methods that enable me to achieve symptom reduction, and ultimately a clearing of symptoms, in just a few sessions with the clients I work with.
Many of my clients have been through the mill and have tried everything else, such as medication, psychotherapy, EMDR and CBT- either with limited results or to no avail. Some of my clients have had anxiety for as long as they can remember.
Often, their symptoms of anxiety are complex with other possible underlying issues such as addictions or depression. For many, the symptoms of anxiety and PTSD have held them back from fully expressing themselves, from finding meaning and purpose and from enjoying life to the fullest.
Typically, my clients start getting results early on in therapy starting from the first or second session. i don't ask anyone to commit to more than four sessions- four sessions will give a good insight into whether or not the processes I work with will work for you, and most importantly, whether you like working in this way.

Other Forms of Anxiety Treatment
The standard response to anxiety is CBT or cognitive behavioural therapy. The difficulty with CBT is that the therapy rests on the assumption that you can override your emotions and your subconscious mind with cognitive concepts and thought.
This may work for some who suffer from anxiety, but for many, it doesn't. The same principle holds true for all forms of talk therapy and coaching- it is impossible to work with traumatic encoding through talk therapy alone because this encoding is held in the sub-cortical part of the brain.
The reports I have had about the exclusive use of EMDR for anxiety seem to indicate that EMDR can be helpful at least to some extent, but the process has an over-reliance on cognitive memories and is often very hard work for the client. And what if you have no particular memories of underlying trauma?
With the processes I use it makes no difference whether or not you have an underlying traumatic memory or not. It makes no difference how long you have had anxiety, and it makes no difference whether you are currently on medication or not- if you take to this work and decide it is for you, you can expect good results in just a few sessions.
For one thing, this is because I work directly with the subconscious mind to dismantle the traumatic programming that, in my experience, typically underlies anxiety. For another, I place a lot of emphasis on keeping my clients feeling safe during the entire process so that anxiety, trauma and PTSD can be worked with without having you feeling overwhelmed.
